Area boarding facilities are reporting outbreaks of Canine Upper Respiratory Disease. This is typically caused by a combination of respiratory viruses and bacteria but does include the possibility of Kennel Cough and Canine Influenza.

We recommend limiting unnecessary contact with dogs in the neighborhood if at all possible during the upcoming weeks.

Senior Pet Care

Senior Pet Care

Aging is a natural part of life, and just like us, our pets deserve to navigate it with grace and comfort. Unlike us, animals are often adept at masking signs of chronic illness and age-related changes, which can make it hard for owners to notice subtle shifts in their pet’s health. That’s why senior pet care is so important.  The transition from playful young pets to more subdued seniors can be gradual, and sometimes the changes go unnoticed until they become significant issues.

At Animal Medical Center of Cascades, our goal is to help your senior pet enjoy a happy, active, and pain-free life for as long as possible. Our team is trained to spot these subtle changes and provide the care necessary to address them. We focus on managing chronic conditions and slowing their progression to enhance your pet’s quality of life. Often as part of our care plan for an aging pet, we may include regenerative medicine such as PRP Therapy or Laser Therapy.

Senior pets benefit from more frequent and comprehensive evaluations, including physical exams, bloodwork, urinalysis, imaging, blood pressure checks, glaucoma screening, and proactive dental care. We also value your observations about changes in your pet’s routine, appetite, comfort, and activity. Your input helps us tailor our approach to meet their specific needs.

At AMCC, we believe that age is not a disease—it’s a stage of life that deserves the best care and support.
