Area boarding facilities are reporting outbreaks of Canine Upper Respiratory Disease. This is typically caused by a combination of respiratory viruses and bacteria but does include the possibility of Kennel Cough and Canine Influenza.

We recommend limiting unnecessary contact with dogs in the neighborhood if at all possible during the upcoming weeks.

End of Life Care

End of Life Care

Providing Peace and Comfort

End-of-life care for pets is a delicate and emotional part of veterinary medicine. During this time, we go beyond medical treatment to offer comfort and support for you and your pet. Our goal is to ensure your pet receives compassionate care, while helping you through the difficult process of saying goodbye.

We offer hospice care, which focuses on managing pain and improving your pet’s quality of life in their final days. This approach allows your pet to stay at home, surrounded by familiar faces and comforts, until it’s time to cross the rainbow bridge.

Dignity Care for Your Pet

When the time comes, we strive to make for a peaceful experience for both of you. We offer quiet, comfortable rooms where you can spend uninterrupted time with your pet, creating a calm setting for their final moments. Our veterinarians and staff approach end-of-life care with empathy, patience, and respect, understanding the deep bond between you and your pet.

During euthanasia, we use medications that ensure a peaceful, painless passing, handled with the utmost care.

After your pet’s passing, we can assist with memorial options such as paw prints and private or communal cremation. We understand how special each pet is to their family, and we believe honoring their memory is a vital step in healing.

Our goal is to support you and your pet through this difficult time, ensuring their final moments are filled with love, peace, and care.

I wanted to share my experience with the staff at Animal Medical Center of Cascades. As a Cat Mom, I faced a tough decision with my 17-year-old female cat when she stopped eating. I quickly got an appointment with Dr. Mitchell, who diagnosed my cat with abdominal cancer. She explained my options and emphasized the importance of quality of life. One of the technicians also shared her similar experience, which helped me decide. I got to spend a few more months with my cat, and when the time came to say goodbye, the staff gave me the space and comfort I needed.

Two years later, I had to make the same decision with my male cat. Once again, the staff exceeded my expectations. Dr. Mitchell asked about his nicknames and even used one during the process. She kissed his forehead and reassured me that he knew he was loved. They allowed me time to compose myself, which meant so much. When I get another pet, I know they’ll be cared for by Animal Medical Center of Cascades.
