Dr. Sarah Tew is an Associate Veterinarian at Animal Medical Center of Cascades. After living in Kansas City for most of her adult life, she relocated to Northern Virginia in Fall 2013 and officially joined AMC in January 2014. Dr. Tew’s favorite part of her job is spending time educating clients so that they may optimize the health of their pet. She is a devoted supporter of the Human-Animal Bond and strives to preserve that special relationship between people and their pets for as long as possible.
Dr. Tew graduated from Park University in Kansas City with a BS in Biology. From there, she went to the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating with her DVM degree in 2006. She completed a one-year internship in equine ambulatory medicine at The Ohio State University in 2007, then moved back to Kansas City to pursue a career in small animal medicine and worked at several different practices there. Dr. Tew’s favorite practice interests are dentistry, preventive care, dermatology (especially treating allergies), feline medicine, and challenging internal medicine cases. She is also very excited to gain more experience in ultrasound here at AMC.
Dr. Tew’s hobbies include cooking and gardening. She is also a devoted Missouri Tiger and SEC football fan, so Saturdays in the Fall are some of her favorites. Her pets include two dogs, Truman (Catahoula) and Stewart (Pointer Mix), as well as two Domestic Shorthair cats, Ed and Emmitt.
